Shopping Spree

Male shoppers Vs Female shoppers

“Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”. The statement holds true in all situations and habits pertinent to day-to-day activities - in eating, laughing, driving, handling money or watching TV and, shopping is no exception.

The conventional sapience on male shoppers is they don’t like to do it, which is the reason they don’t do much of it. And, even when they buy, they rarely shop. Women always shop when they buy, and are estimated to buy nearly 85 percent of everything that is for sale.

Most verbal exchanges between men and women shopping together are more or less bad-tempered. Not leaving you to surprise, a husband often stands outside the shop and watches beautiful girls passing by. Shopping plazas and big stores already started having designated places for men where they can have snacks, drinks and sit comfortably in front of a plasma Television screen while their women shop.

A recent survey in London signals that shopping in crowded stores raises stress levels of men to the point it’s risky to their health. The stress levels for women who had brought their husbands along were much higher than those who went alone or with other female companions.
Women do have a greater kinship to what we think of as shopping-walking at a relaxed pace through stores. They take time comparing products and prices, talking to sales staff, examining merchandise. No matter whether it is shopping for everyday necessities or just for pleasure, they show a completely dedicated manner.

As shopping goes, men by comparison seem totally different. They move very faster than women through a store. Often it’s hard to get them to look at anything they hadn’t intended to buy. They usually don’t ask where things are from, or any other questions, for that matter-----they shop the way they drive.

It’s only at computer software and hardware purchasing that you see men spending time, or at stores dealing with bike/car accessories.

Can we call this as the affinity that is unique for both sexes? Who knows? I am sorry; I don’t have God’s e-mail address to check with him.
