Want to profit by making movies? Wrap up the whole story with one item song, two action packed sequences and so called comedy track that never relates to story line. Am I sounding like a critic? No, this could be the ideal answer from many people in film circuits when asked to give tips on making a minimum guarantee movie.
But, Mohana Krishna Indraganti, who made a mark with his award winning movie “Grahanam” thinks different. His thinking reflected on screen when his second movie “Ashta Chemma” hit theaters last month. No action, no vulgarity and a big no to violence. Mohan Krishna succeeded in directing a movie that revolves around a girl’s obsession to actor Mahesh Babu.
Colors Swathi is a die hard fan of Mahesh Babu. Her desire to marry Mahesh turns out to be a dream when he married Namrata Sirodkar. Swathi, a girl from above middle class family who likes to see things’ falling in place comes to compromise. She decides to marry a guy who has the name of Mahesh and expresses her changed opinion to neighbor cum friend Srinivas. Of course, it is not a surprising decision from Swathi as he is tired seeing the heights of her crazy behavior. However, the surprise comes from Jhansi, aunt of Swathi because she pinned up her hopes heavily on finding an NRI groom for the girl. The two and half hours humors story gears up when Srinivas helps Swathi to find a handsome guy with the name Mahesh. Everything revolves around the name “Mahesh” and the twists and turns related to it bring the story to climax.
